Friday – Prophets

Reading – Hosea 9-10

Highlight Verse:

“The time of Israel’s punishment has come; the day of payment is here. Soon Israel will know this all too well. Because of your great sin and hostility, you say, “The prophets are crazy and the inspired men are fools!””

Can you imagine a time when people who spoke out for righteousness were called crazy and those who championed faith were called fools?

Sorry, sarcasm is my native language.

But the situation in the northern kingdom of Israel in the days just before the exile bears a marked resemblance to America today.

Yes, the world is different today and Jesus has already paid the price for sin.

Even so, I believe we would do well to learn from the failures of Israel before the exile and bring more faith and faithfulness back to our society.

I do not want to make this political.

I do want to see revival in our land!
