Friday – Prophets

Reading – Malachi 1-2

Highlight Verse:

“You have wearied the Lord with your words. “How have we wearied him?” you ask. You have wearied him by saying that all who do evil are good in the Lord’s sight, and he is pleased with them. You have wearied him by asking, “Where is the God of justice?””
‭‭Malachi‬ ‭2‬:‭17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It is never my intention to get political here.

I do what I can to focus on what the Bible says, not what political leaders say.

But I will not water down the Gospel to remain politically sensitive.

I will not call sin or wrongdoing okay in the name of tolerance.

But I will make it clear that we have all done wrong.

If we claim that it is okay to do wrong, we say we don’t need Jesus or His sacrifice.

We do.

I do.

You do.

Because we have all done what is wrong.

We don’t have the power to overcome our wrongdoing before God.

But Jesus does.

And He did.

We look to Him for the power to overcome sin.

And for the times we fail, we accept His forgiveness and grace.

Which are you more likely to lean toward, calling what is wrong okay in the name of tolerance or judging others for everything they’ve done wrong?
Have you found that sweet spot where you strive to do good and accept God’s grace and forgiveness?
