Sunday – Poetry

Reading – Psalms 25-26

Highlight Verses:

“I trust in you, my God! Do not let me be disgraced, or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat. No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced, but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭25‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Moral failure among leaders has been an unfortunate truth in Christian society. Prominent leaders sometimes lead a double-life, hiding their secret sins.

In some cases, the lies go on and build up for so long that the effects ripple throughout the community.

In every case, if these leaders had caring, honest accountability, tragedy could have been averted. Sin could have been proverbially “nipped in the bud.”

Every one of us is human and susceptible to sin and it’s effects. Even King David, who wrote this Psalm felt the effects of serious sin.

God heals and restores from even the most serious sin.

It is far better to seek that healing before the need becomes far more widespread.

Do you have someone you can confide in for accountability?
Have you lived through such a restoration? What advice can you give those in need of restoration?
