Reading – Judges 12-14

Highlight Verse:
“Then Manoah prayed to the Lord, saying, “Lord, please let the man of God come back to us again and give us more instructions about this son who is to be born.””
‭‭Judges‬ ‭13‬:‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We all hope for great things for our kids.

I think that Manoah did the right thing in seeking guidance from the “Man of God” for advice in raising Samson.

I don’t think that Manoah was a perfect father. That’s not because of how Samson messed up so badly.

It is because Manoah is human just like all us other dads.

There’s no denying that Samson messed things up. It is thought by many scholars that he could have been the greatest of the judges if he had just obeyed God’s instructions.

While he did save Israel, we learn more about his mistakes and their consequences than his achievements.

His dad did what he could to try to lead Samson in the right direction, but it was still Samson’s choice to jump into sin.

No matter how good of a parent that you are, your children will and must make their own decisions.

We need to never stop praying that they make the best ones.

Have you sought guidance from God on how to instruct your kids?
Do you lift them up to God constantly in prayer?
