Reading – Proverbs 1

Highlight Verses:

“These are the proverbs of Solomon, David’s son, king of Israel. Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline, to help them understand the insights of the wise. Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just, and fair.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When a passage declares its purpose, I pay attention so I can apply it more effectively.

If you want to be more disciplined and successful and do what is right, just, and fair, I suggest that you pay attention to Proverbs for the next 31 weeks.

In the first chapter, among other things, we learn to pay attention when our parents discipline us, refrain from following after rebellious people, and pay attention to wisdom.

If we do that, we will find peace.

What advice stood out the most to you in the first chapter of Proverbs?
What purpose appeals to you more, discipline, success, doing what is right, or peace? Why?
