Reading – Proverbs 6

Highlight Verse:

“Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise!”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭6‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God uses animals to make a point in several spots. Lions, lambs, doves, serpents, wolves, and others are all mentioned.

But ants are the smallest.

They may seem insignificant, but the points they illustrate are huge:

• They work together even when they don’t have a leader other than their God-given instincts.
• They work toward a goal (having food to last the winter).
• They work diligently.

All good lessons to learn.

Solomon goes on to give us a clue about how to get started – wake up.

Whether that be literal or figurative, we need to put that into practice. We need to become aware and do what it takes to do what God has called us to do.

We are all tempted to hit the snooze button on God’s calling for us. It’s comfortable to sleep.

But if we step out in our calling, work together with others toward the same goal, and do so diligently, there’s no limit to what God could do through us.

Have you stepped up in your calling? What have you seen God do through you and your fellow workers?
Are you hitting the calling snooze button? What would it take to get you moving forward?
