Tuesday – Pentateuch
Genesis 1
Highlight verse –
“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.”
Genesis 1:31 NIV
First off, in case you don’t know, the Pentateuch is the first five books of the Bible, also known as the Torah or Hebrew Bible.
And it starts off good – literally. It struck me today how many times He uses the word “good” to describe his creation. That is until the sixth day when He created mankind. Then it was “very good”.
We are made in God’s image. Yes, you’ll soon read about the fall, but that’s not how it started and that’s not where it has to stay.
I truly believe that God created all things good. I don’t think we are accidents. We, along with all of Creation are works of art.

While I don’t look at the Bible as a science textbook, it is remarkable how much unbiased science (science that doesn’t presume there is no God) has lined up with the Creation story in Genesis.
And it was very good.
Do you think that God literally created everything with his words?
What do you think He meant when God said “it was good?”
