Tuesday – Pentateuch
Reading – Genesis 15-16
Highlight Verse:
“But Abram replied, “O Sovereign Lord, what good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son? Since you’ve given me no children, Eliezer of Damascus, a servant in my household, will inherit all my wealth.”
Genesis 15:2 NLT
I understand a little bit of Abram’s pain.
Yes, I know I have four kids. But the first didn’t come until I was 36. Sure that’s nothing compared to Abram who was 86 when Ishmael was born and 100 when Isaac was born.
I did say a little bit.
This verse jumped out at me today in part because of our church’s message last Sunday.
In his message our teaching pastor, Tyler, reminded us that Jesus is still near regardless of our circumstances and that we should not let our waiting time be wasted time.
You may be waiting for your purpose to be fulfilled in some way, but that doesn’t mean that you are useless in the meantime. Far from it.
God can use your circumstances to bless you and others around you in ways you couldn’t imagine as you struggle in the frustrating times. Just be open to the ways that He can use you as you wait.
If you feel like you are in the waiting room of life, what is it that you are waiting for?
What can you be doing as you wait?
