Just like David’s troops had a single purpose, our military today has the simple purpose of protecting freedom for the American people and their allies.

As one of those people who has grown up with the advantage of freedom and democracy, I want to say thanks today for all those who have given part of their lives in defense of freedom in our military.

I encourage you today to express your thanks to the veterans and active-duty military that you know or encounter today.
