Friday – Prophets

Reading – Hosea 9-10

Highlight Verse:

“I said, ‘Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and shower righteousness upon you.’”

‭‭Hosea‬ ‭10‬:‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I haven’t done much gardening, but I know at least one thing about it.

It is hard work.

Especially if the ground is hard.

You have to break up the ground, remove the weeds, enrich the soil, and plant good seeds at the proper depth with the proper space.

Then you have to tend it.

That takes diligence and consistency.

If you do all these things and the weather cooperates, there is nothing quite like garden fresh vegetables!

The last time I tried to garden, I didn’t do so well.

My late start, inconsistent weeding, and poor soil prep resulted in just a few usable vegetables.

With God’s help, you and I can do much better in our spiritual gardens.

What do you need to do to prepare your heart for growth?

What needs to be weeded from your life?

What have you been able to harvest from your efforts at righteousness?
