Reading – Job 9-10

Highlight Verse:

““‘You formed me with your hands; you made me, yet now you completely destroy me.”

Job was a complex character.

On the one hand, he recognized God’s sovereign creative hand.

On the other hand, he blames God for his troubles.

Someone once told me that those who most violently reject God may just be the most likely to come to faith.

Their very hatred of God acknowledges the existence of God. If they were fully convinced that God didn’t exist, why would they be so emotional about Him?

Like Job, their anger is misplaced.

Job was angry at God for what Satan did.

Most who are angry at God blame Him for what people have done in His name.

Others are angry because they think that God doesn’t want them to have any freedom or fun. They don’t realize that living according to God’s commands brings far greater freedom and joy.

Regardless of their reasoning, we need to guide them back into truth with both compassion and truth.

Until they see that truth, we need to consistently pray that the Holy Spirit would open their eyes.

How would you advise believers to reach those in that situation?
