Reading – Job 17-18

Highlight Verse:

“These men say that night is day; they claim that the darkness is light.”
‭‭Job‬ ‭17‬:‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Job was, of course, speaking of his so-called friends turned tormentors.

He might as well have been speaking about a lot of people today.

Morality has been presented as intolerance and therefore evil.

Belief in God has been presented as ignorance and teaching children about God as leading them astray.

In so many ways, we are being told that truth is a lie and lies are the truth.

How do we know what is true?

I could simply say “God’s Word” and be correct.

I could also say the truth is revealed in faith and be correct.

But I’m a natural skeptic. I need evidence.

Here’s the evidence that convinced me:

• The Bible is the most documented body of writing in history.
• The message of the Bible, taken in context, is cohesive.
• That message reflects the love of the Father which, as a father, makes perfect sense.
• The message of the Bible reflects the miraculous power of God, much of which I have witnessed.
• The people who walked with Jesus were so convinced that He was truly the Son of God and His message was true that they willingly submitted to torture and death rather than forsake faith in Him.
• Those who truly followed Jesus’ teaching have been the most loving people I have ever known.
• Every time I have followed God’s instructions in the Bible, it has brought more joy, fulfillment, and growth in my life.

I could go on and on and on.

To put it plainly, the truth is found in Jesus alone.

What evidence has convinced you that Jesus is true?
What questions have stood between you and faith?
