Reading – Ephesians 3
Highlight Verse:
“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
Ephesians 3:20 NLT
I don’t know about you, but I have a tendency to try to do things on my own without anyone’s assistance.
Sometimes that can cause problems.
When I was 12, I was on vacation with my family in Hawaii. I loved playing and swimming in the warm waters of Waikiki Beach. I went into deeper water to get away from my cousins.
When I was about as far out as I could safely go, I heard a cry for help.
I couldn’t see where it was coming from until I rode the crest of a wave and looked again.
An old man and a girl I assumed was his granddaughter were having a hard time staying afloat.
They were farther out than me.
Beyond where it was safe for a weak swimmer like me.
Sometimes God calls us to go beyond where we are able.
And sometimes He handles our problems for us.
Either way, He is able.
He is able to give us the strength and talent to accomplish what He wants us to do.
And He is able to intervene and handle the problem for us.
Whichever way He chooses, He is able to do far more than we can imagine.
How have you seen God work beyond what you can imagine?
How has He stretched you beyond what you thought possible?
I left the story hanging because I didn’t want to spoil it for you.
It is this year’s Halloween story. A QR code will be attached to each full-sized candy bar that I hand out on Halloween that will lead kids to the story. Links at the end of the story will lead kids and their adults to a salvation explanation and prayer.
The QR code and a PDF with 8 papers per page are now available on the downloads page here
