Reading – Nehemiah 7-8

Highlight Verse:

“all the people assembled with a unified purpose at the square just inside the Water Gate. They asked Ezra the scribe to bring out the Book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD had given for Israel to obey.”
‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

I find it interesting that it doesn’t say that Nehemiah or Ezra called the people together.

The people came on their own.

After traveling back from the lands they were exiled in and rebuilding the walls, they had built up a hunger for the Word of God and His presence among them.

They listened to all that God had to say in His Word in the Torah, (also known as the Pentateuch).

Later in this chapter, we find that their leaders came back for more detailed instruction in the Word so they cold teach the people and become the Nation of God again.

The fact that you are reading this tells me that you are hungry for the Word of God.

That’s a hunger that I can stand behind.

I encourage you to dive deep and then share it to all those around you.

Be the Ezra among those who desire to come back to God.

What do you think we can do to encourage people to hunger for the Word?
Who are two people in your world that you can encourage to get back into the Word?
